Im helping my friend build a computer. He has a X570 plus motherboard (tuf gaming) and for some reason the qled lights wont turn on when we turn on the power. The Rgb On the MOBO turns on but the GPU fan or the cpu fan wont spin when powered on. mobo wont turn on either. Any Ideas on what it can be? we thought it was a faulty mobo but we went back to get a new one and still same issue. any ideas? maybe the CPU is faulty?

Specs?

So if I understood correctly, the motherboard LEDs light up but no fans spin? Does anything happen when you press the power button?

he has a ryzen 7 3700x, mobo tuf gaming X570 plus gaming, gpu is a 2080 super and psu is a corsair cx750m. We think it needs the extra 4 pin connector. It has a 4pin, 8 pin, and the 24pin power connector. we only have the 24 and the 8 connected because it doesnt come with a extra 4 pin. thats the only thing we can think of right now yea just the RGB lights up nothing else wants to power

I'm not sure about that specific motherboard, but for most motherboards that have an 8 pin and 4 pin connector you don't need to use the extra 4 pin. It's there for heavy overclocks that require more power. Have you made sure all cables are all the way plugged in? Some other things you can try are shorting the power-on pins instead of using the power button, or taking everything out of the case and trying to power it on to make sure something isn't shorting the motherboard. Also what specifically happens when you press the power button, like any fans starting to spin, and lights turning on, etc.?

yes i made sure all cables were connected and every cable on the mobo was connected properly. We did took out the mobo from the case and try to power it on but same thing just the RGB turn on. we press the power button but nothing The fans on the stock cooler or the fans on the gpu wont spin just the rgb is on

Have you tried using a different PSU? Also like I suggested above, it's not likely but it could be a problem with the actual power button, so you can try unplugging the power button and shorting the front I/O power pins.

750W should be plenty, but it's possible the PSU is defective. Is there a way for you to try a different PSU with his PC, or use his PSU in another PC? If the Q LEDs are not turning on, that could be a problem with the motherboard, psu, or connections to the motherboard. It's not likely that 2 motherboards in a row are defective, so that leaves the psu and the connections. Make sure the cpu cooler fan is plugged in to the cpu fan header, and double check the front I/O connections. It would help if you could post some pictures, particularly of the front I/O connections.
