Thermal paste/grease

what is the brand? some of those white stuff actually is not a thermal paste but rather a thermal cement/glue. i've encountered one and its a bitch to remove once dry.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

 

CURRENT PC SPECS    

CPU             : Ryzen 5 3600 (Formerly Ryzen 3 1200)

GPU             : ASUS RX 580 Dual OC (Formerly ASUS GTX 1060 but it got corroded for some odd reasons)

GPU COOOER      : ID Cooling Frostflow 120 VGA (Stock cooler overheats even when undervolted :()

MOBO            : MSI B350m Bazooka

MEMORY          : Team Group Elite TUF DDR4 3600 Mhz CL 16
STORAGE         : Seagate Baracudda 1TB and Kingston SSD
PSU             : Thermaltake Lite power 550W (Gonna change soon as i dont trust this)
CASE            : Rakk Anyag Frost
CPU COOLER      : ID-Cooling SE 207
CASE FANS       : Mix of ID cooling fans, Corsair fans and Rakk Ounos (planned change to ID Cooling)
DISPLAY         : SpectrePro XTNS24 144hz Curved VA panel
MOUSE           : Logitech G603 Lightspeed
KEYBOARD        : Rakk Lam Ang

HEADSET         : Plantronics RIG 500HD

Kingston Hyper X Stinger

 

and a whole lot of LED everywhere(behind the monitor, behind the desk, behind the shelf of the PC mount and inside the case)

it says heatsink compound and thermally conductive silicone grease on it.the brand is Chemtools

according to their site, the thermal conductivity is 0.9 W/mK . id say no since even a thermal pad from arctic has like 1.2W/mK. if you can get a hand on an arctic MX 4 2019, it has a thermal conductivity of 8.5W/mK which is pretty cheap, doesnt dry out as fast as other pastes, doesnt need curing. so it will last you a while

I live in fiji so dnt have a wide variety to choose from F but do u think this can do the job??

it can do some work. but it will be horribly bad.

what cooler are you using and what CPU? if you dont plan to do heavy stuff and no overclocking, it will do for now since it will 100% overheat. Also, doesnt the cooler come with thermal pastes?

yea it came with thermal paste but i changed my mobo so gotta re apply and yea not doing some heavy stuff like editing or programming jst planning to play like fortnite and LOL and no overclocking.my cpu cooler is the stock one that comes with the ryzen 5 3600

oh. thats ok then. since ryzen just throttles down when it heats up a bit. just make sure to monitor your temps. going past 85 means, shut off any application that might be causing it.
