I recently built my first gaming rig. I played it all day. Worked great. Witcher 3 max settings, no issues. Rust max settings no issues, mordhau. The list goes on.

I fire up PUBG. Game works for awhile. Lose a couple games. Then out of nowhere my PC shuts completely off. No warning, no error codes, no blue screens. Just loses all power. Then after a moment it turns back on. And goes through the boot. No error messages.

So I went into trouble shooting mode. Ran heaven benchmark, tomb raider, and nothing. Ran a stress test that had my CPU and GPU near or at 100% for 15 minutes and no crash. It’s seriously just limited to PUBG. I can’t figure it out. Im at a loss. I feel like I should start at the PSU, but it doesn’t explain it just happening with PUBG.

All my drivers and windows are up to date

Computer specs:

Intel Core i7 9th Gen 9700K (3.60GHz)
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB
16GB DDR4 3000MHz
1TB SSD
650W 80 Plus Gold
Intel Z390 Pro

I would say this is a thermal issue and your PC is turning itself off to try and save components from damage.

I thought his as well but not a single component ever got above 60°C. In the stress test, or when I monitored temps replicating the issue in PUBG

It helps to have a pcpartpicker.com spec list so we have the exact specifications

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

UPDATE: so I continued swapping parts. My old ram actually started smoking?? Never seen that before. BUT. That led me to try different ram slots, different ram, and a new PSU at the same time. Which I hadn’t done previously, and everything works. I played PUBG for 5 hours with no issues.
