Hello I am currently in the process of building a new computer and I am wondering how I am going to get Windows 10 installed on my new computer I currently have Windows 10 on a laptop is there any way you can transfer the license or anything to the new computer or will I just have to buy a new copy for $119?

Thanks for the help

Care of shady sites selling keys for cheap. Either get the key from your laptop which as said before there are programs that will do this. Or purchase a new key From a retail or Microsoft store.

Do you ever have any bad experience with this "shady" keys?

Sites like G2A and kinguin are known for having users get keys using nefarious means. At times developers do not see any of the sales from sites that use this gray market. This might not be an issue as Microsoft is massive but if we scale it back to a smaller developer this could cause actual financial issues. I do not use them more in principal than anything else. If you like X product you purchase it from person selling it. If it is too expensive you can tell them its too expensive and if they agree it could go down as supply and demand.

You can think of the sites as pawn shops. there are alot of legit places to buy things at good prices as they are used and if you dont mind the used nature you can find good deals. the issue with some of the sites is that they could be grabbing keys from countries where the price is much lower and selling in another country to make a profit. People are more than free to purchase from where they like this is only my opinion on the matter as I am fully capitalistic and believe if a developer makes X product and the price makes sense I will purchase it for X price. If it's too much then ill wait for a sale or let them know "Hey its too expensive" and they can either listen or do what they will as its their product :)

1. Install windows 10 on that computer and never activate, all features (except personalization) will work including updates, plus you get a reminder on the bottom right of the screen.

2. Get "shady" keys from grey market with warranty from seller.

3. Burn $200 for a legit keys.

As far as i know, you can't transfer the laptop keys to the pc, as the keys sometimes locked by the OEM brand.
But hey, you can try.
