Which Upgrade Would Be Most Beneficial To Me?

As the title suggests, I'm really not too sure what upgrade I should make to improve the speed and performance of my PC, I've done much trawling through sites to decide what kind of things are out there to no avail, so I've come to ask you guys

I mainly game and host large Minecraft tournaments on my PC (120MBit/50MBit internet rocks!)

As it currently stands, the specifications of my PC are as follows

CPU: AMD phenom II X4 955 BE

GPU: Sapphire Radeon 6850

RAM: 16GB of G.skill ripjaws 1600Mhz

SSD: OCZ Vertex 4 128GB

Motherboard: ASUS M5A88V-EVO

Case: Coolermaster Elite 430 black

CPU cooler: Antec Kuhler H20 620

My budget is about £180 (290 CAD) (280 USD)

Any suggestions would be great.

A GPU upgrade will be the most beneficial.
The 7870 Tahiti LE fits right into your budget & will be a phenomenal upgrade to your gaming performance.
Effectively doubling your frames per second.

GPU  It's hard to reccomend something if I don't know what you're doing, but if you're a gamer, the 6850 is getting a little old.  If you have $280 go for a 7870 LE.  You probably wont need a PSU upgrade and the card is a beast overclocker.

if you arent mostly gaming i would say upgrading to an am3+ or lower end 1155 cpu/mobo would make a big difference

I was very much interested in the HD 7870, But I haven't been following AMD's GPUs much lately so I assume the 8000 series cards are coming out soon, should I wait for them to come out?

I was also contemplating maybe an upgrade of my processor to an FX-8350 but it seems clear that a 7870 or 8870 (If they're coming within the next 6-8 months) would the best option.

The new generation of graphics cards from AMD is coming in Q4, so around October or slightly after.

The new generation of graphics cards coming from Nvidia is coming around June, but they'll start rolling out the more expensive  versions first.

The 700 series is going to use the same 600 series GPUs but with slight clock improvements and at lower prices, GTX 770 is going to be a rebadged GTX 680 & GTX 760 Ti is going to be a rebadged GTX 670.

If thats the case, I will wait until october to see what the 8000 series offers and if it's nothing amazing pick up a reduced 7870.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions!

your system is very balanced as it is.
the only upgrade that you can do is maybe a gpu upgrade, but it might be bottlenecked.
