So i'm looking to buy new ram for my Ryzen 7 3700X and currently i'm running a (2x8) 3000 mhz kit. I'm upgrading to a 3600 2x8 kit, but how big is the difference between 17 and 18 Cas Latency?

the difference in performance is not that large. If the price difference is large, don't bother, as you can try to tighten the timings manually in the BIOS anyway.

The difference is 1/frequency seconds.

At 3600 the ideal CL is 14. 16 is alright, 17 and 18 are bad. Will you notice the difference between CL14 and CL18? Yes, in GTA V and in synthetic benchmarks.

Well since it's DDR, it's actually 1/(1/frequency/2))*cas

Those kits are way too expensive. Stick to 3600 CL16 or buy 4000 CL18/19. Something like Patriot Viper Steel 4000mhz.
