Thinking on repairing a laptop for the first time

MatsNorway

A family member has a ASUS VivoBook S550CB 15.6" and the mechanical disk has started messing up. I wonder if i can swap in a SSD. Anyone have experience doing that? And if so, do you have a small ssd recommendation? 120gig

Ebay has this listed https://www.ebay.com/itm/332848162255

But it seems to be a regular stationary PC SSD in picture. Any tips on what to look for?

Apart from that it has worked flawlessly since 2013 or so.

Yeah it should be a very simple swap, only a couple of screws to open the back. 0:50

You can put any 2.5" SATA SSD in there, I suggest at least a 240GB though, they're pretty cheap at only ~35$ for the SanDisk SSD.

Openfile. Why you talking about BIN files? do i need to do something extra if i install win 10 on the 2.5"?

Can i extract the Windows 8 key and reuse it to get win 10 on a new drive?

He could be a bot I'm not sure, what he said is completely unrelated.

I think he somehow posted in the wrong thread. I have seen it before, but not sure where.

So. Anyone know if Win 8 key licence can be extracted/reused?
