Pc studder/freezes problem

So i got a

amd ryzen 5 1600

XFX Radeon rx 580

Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Single DDR4 2666 MT/s 2 sticks 16gb

and if need GIGABYTE AORUS GA-AX370-Gaming 5 thats the motherboard but  im encountering a problem sins i got this pc 1y or less ago is that it studders and freezes for like a 1-2 second when gaming and i might know why but i want to make sure witch is when i build my pc i didnt have the money for a harddrive or ssd at the time so i use this old hard drive from a ps3 to download and install windows and i was wondering if maybe thats the reason  im getting this problem when gaming my fps is find but its dips but its like tiny freeze well let me know if it is so i can remove this old hard drive lol thanks
