Asus laptop gtx 980m worth it??

Hello,

I am looking to buy a used ASUS G751JY from my local market

it has the following specs

I7 4720HQ

24GB RAM

1TB HDD AND 256GB SSD

GTX 980M GB GDDR5

17inch 75Hz G-sync display

Jet fighter style body that's massive and im not so sure about,

I'm buying it for 500 dollars and its in minimalistic use with its box and the battery lasts 3.5H

I Have a Lenovo legion with a gtx 1050 i5 8300h 8gb ram no ssd that im going to sell to a friend for 480 dollars so I don't mind the extra bit

I don't take my laptop around I only travel twice a year and its the only time the laptop would eave my desk

is the laptop worth its price tage= and how well does the specs hold up

I play pubg, GTA V, battlefield V and the gtx 1050 is not cutting it in even low settings.

Sorry for utter garbage English its my 2nd language.

There are many factors that fall in place for this such as:
Are you willing to sacrifice extra cash for less performance?
Is portability a factor for you?
It seems that your legion could do a good at handling those games.
So keep these in mind, and if this seems good to you, go for it.

Portability is not a factor the I consider,

the Legion has an issue with overheating and hitting thermal limits even after repasting and giving it to a pc repair shop

I lost hope and I want to get rid of it

On paper the ASUS looks better in all aspects except the cpu

I still don't understand what you mean by less performance

The gtx 980m is a slightly slower version of a gtx 970 which sits around the performance of a gtx 1050 ti

that's aside from the extra ram and SSD

There you go then.
If it fits your needs go for it.
Hold on, is the ram ddr4?
