Multi-GPUs: Can I get specific apps to each one or the other (in both Win and Linux?)

Shutset

I'm investing in a high-end machine that'll have two Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080Ti blower GPU's linked together along with a Nvidia Quadro RTX 8000. The idea is that I would use the former two cards for gaming and the latter for rendering and other productive apps (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite).

So I wonder if it is possible to get specific apps to use either one or the other for their graphics processing in both Windows and Linux (as I'm also looking to make it a multi-boot system).

If so how?

Thanks.

the rtx8000 is basically a 2080ti. Id stay away from sli, and just use the quadro for gaming. It will play games about as well as the 2080ti, so no reason to get the 2080ti to play games.

Really? I watched a video on Youtube, showing how the GeForce series are more suited for performance in gaming while the Quadro series are more geared for precise computing work.

The quadro cards will be about the same as a eqv geoforce card. I have game and tested many a quadro.

Look at these numbers, that video is bs https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Can-you-game-on-an-NVIDIA-Quadro-GPU-604/

Id try the quadros first and see if its fast enougn in games, then you can buy the gtx cards later.

I just read that article. Even though it is vastly outdated, it's given me something to think about.
