my gtx 970's clock speeds are stuck at idle regardless of load

 i have tried

reseating the card

updating/rolling back drivers(including a clean install after ddu)

the other pci slot on the motherboard

updated bios/chipset

my system

  • gigabyte b450m ds3h mobo
  • ryzen 3 3200g
  • 16gb teamgroup t-force 3200mhz ddr4 ram
  • 240gb xpg nvme drive
  • gtx 970
  • corsair vs 450 psu

stuff to note

the driver seems to reset as soon as i see the windows login screen

power consumption is also stupid high on idle...

Have you tried a manual overclock just to force a clock speed change?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
