budget?

I am trying to keep it below 1000, as I spend about 100-200 per paycheck to get parts and I am buying over the next few months. I am also going to upgrade it with parts from my main computer once they are upgraded and replaced later this year and next year.

if you cant return the motheboad, you either need to get a vendor to update the Bios, or order a bootkit. or we can change the build.

I have a 1500X sitting around I can use to update Bios, so that's not really an issue for me.The monitor and case I just have sitting around as well, so I might as well just use those. I already have a main computer to play the games on, this one is mostly to hold a capture card and upload to Twitch. The MB I have does say Ryzen 3000 ready, so I am not sure if that means the Bios are already updated, or if I need to do it myself.

just use the 1500x then and use the gtx 1660 for Nvenc encoding.

that or just pick up a cheap GPU as a displayoutput and then use the CPU for enocding. no need to grab a new CPU.

The capture card I am wanting to get has H.264 encoding built in, and I was thinking about selling the1500X to a friend who is building their first computer, which is why a put a CPU on the list. If I do end up using a gen 3 Ryzen, I can just use the 1500X to flash the bios quickly before I sell it to them.

you will probably want to use the CPU/GPU encoding for when you are streaming.

That makes sense. Once I upgrade my main PC to a 3900X, I will most likely throw the 3700X into this one, so I really need something that can hold me over until then.

pretty much any quadcore can do 1080p encoding with no issue, so i wouldnt be concerned about it.
