Silverstone Strider ST1000P 80+ Silver

cesh me inside b0z

In 2010, i needed a better power supply, the GTX 580 just launched and the 480's were cheap, i had a 9800GT.

I stepped up to the i7 980X from a i7 920, decent upgrade, much better overclocker! hit 4.4ghz on i think 1.32v

It was a choice between 2 HD 5870's or 2 GTX 480's, the price of the 480's were £50 lower each so went with those.

I then put in my basket the ST1000P PSU.

The PSU outlived the longevity of those 480's (4 years) i then upgraded the CPU to a Xeon X5650 combo with a EVGA SR2 motherboard, pushing a decent 4.0ghz on both CPU's, i did not want to overload my power supply knowing how much 2 6c12t Xeon's could suck power with overclocks, but the voltages were only at 1.25v, nothing nuclear reactor and i then moved onto a R9 290.

The R9 290 sadly died in 2017, i then switched to a very cheap XFX R9 280X which has been with me this entire time, i downgraded and sold off the Xeon system for a good amount on ebay and instead opted for a small Ivy i5 system.

Used this until i decided to buy Ryzen with a new power supply.

The ST1000P is still in use to this day, powering the Ivy system as a test bench.

It has gone through a lot of power interrupts too without ever killing hardware or having issues.

The best power supply i have ever bought or used. Virtually indestructible.
