If I buy an asus reference it will be different then Gigabyte's reference? or EVGA's reference (which says super clocked on the title)

I know that reference means that it's unchanged but the prices are different.

Thanks :D

the cooler stays the same all that my be different is the logo on them saying asus or gigabyte and the clock speed on it

If its reference nothing has changed they just slapped a sticker on it. Superclocked=Higher clock speeds but same reference PCB and cooler.

all are the same. However the superclocked version is not worth paying extra for because since they are the same cards you could push it to the same overclock yourself no problem.

There is a difference between a reference PCB and a reference cooler. Typically reference coolers will all be priced the same or similar. However, with reference PCBs, you can get a custom cooler (Windforce, DCUII, etc...). Those coolers will affect temps and noise, and potentially even overclocking.

Usually though, if there is a reference cooler, you will have a reference PCB.

So which one should I buy?

I would recommend finding one with a custom cooler on it. If not, compare things like warranty and overclocking support between the different reference manufacturers to see what will fit your needs best.

If you can avoid a reference GPU, do it. Personally I would go with EVGA ACX, MSI or Asus non-reference coolers (in no particular order).

If the OP doesn't want to overclock there is not much point really aside from acoustics which are not all that bad. At least on the Nvidia side AMD yes avoid. I have quite liked my 2 reference nvidia cards.

Spoiler

Corsair 400C- Intel i7 6700- Gigabyte Gaming 6- GTX 1080 Founders Ed. - Intel 530 120GB + 2xWD 1TB + Adata 610 256GB- 16GB 2400MHz G.Skill- Evga G2 650 PSU- Corsair H110- ASUS PB278Q- Dell u2412m- Logitech G710+ - Logitech g700 - Sennheiser PC350 SE/598se

Is it just me or is Grammar slowly becoming extinct on LTT?

depends on what cards he's getting the 780 and above have quite good reference coolers, however the 760 etc... have horrible coolers.

If you are buying a reference card which has been overclocked ~ go for the cheapest most stable of your options ~ imo you should be saving the Princess instead Meliodas!

it depends, the super locked versions are better if you don't overclock, and generally overclock better.
