You should update the BIOS and ME. The ME or Management Engine is a feature on the Intel platform. Updating the ME is important because of security fixes.

PC:

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X | AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE | 32 GB RAM | Arch Linux

Laptop:

MacBook Pro 13" (2019) | Intel Core i5 8279U | 8 GB RAM | macOS

Server:

Intel Core i7 6700K | 16 GB RAM | 2 TB HDD | Debian Linux

The time will be set by the OS automatically so you shouldn't have to worry about that.
