Hello,

I have a MEDION ERAZER P6705 laptop and I've noticed my event viewer is flooded with WHEA-Logger (event ID 17) logs.

Here's what it says when clicked:

A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Component: PCI Express Root Port
Error Source: Advanced Error Reporting (PCI Express)

Primary Bus:Device:Function: 0x0:0x1D:0x0
Secondary Bus:Device:Function: 0x0:0x0:0x0
Primary Device Name:PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A336&SUBSYS_852B1558&REV_F0
Secondary Device Name:

My laptop doesn't seem to be negatively affected by this error, not that I can see anyway. Is this something to be concerned about? What is this device? If I go into Device Manager and click "View" > "Devices by connection", I can see "Intel(R) PCI Express Root Port #15 - A336" listed which seems to match the Primary Device Name ID mentioned in Event Viewer.

Appreciate any help.

Found a post online saying to go into "System Information" > Hardware Resources > Conflicts/Sharing and find the device ID that's being shared with another device. I saw "Realtek PCIe Family Controller" listed with "Intel(R) PCI Express Root Port #15 - A336", so I disabled the Realtek device. The errors seemed to have stopped showing up.

I've re-enabled the device again and so far the errors are not popping back up again. Weird.

I guess the cause is the Realtek controller device which I think is the device for Ethernet connections. Probably just needs an updated driver.
