Hello Everyone im looking for help in a Small Situation So ill get right to it

Im Worried about my Current Build bottlenecking? or becomeing a bottleneck

I have the option to change up my video card due to a warranty i purchased and the store not having my card so giving me a In store Gift card but before i do anything i want to make sure all is well at home

(My Current Build)
MSI 970A-G43
AMD FX 4100 3.6Ghz [Quad Core]
Corsair Vengeance Series 8GB DDR3-1866 [Dual-Channel]
Diamond ATI Radeon HD 7850

Acer X233H (Max Resolution 1920x1080)

Cooler Master 650 Watt Power Supply

Was Wondering if that Current Setup if anyone would see a Bottleneck Issue
And For what im trading up for

(Modified Build)
Swapping Diamond ATI Radeon HD 7850
For
EVGA Nvidia GTX 580

Which seems to be doing much better on performance charts on Top benchmarks and has better stats

Sorry for Bad Grammar/Punctuation Post Rushed

This is my Second build ever and im still Trying to figure out things like bottlenecking (Im Scared of!) So any tips like Suggested Resolution in games

I Run 1600x900 on my Windows desktop cause its just easier for me to see In games i run anywhere from 1600x900 - 1280x720 1920x1080 rarely depending on the game

All help and advice is much appreciated smile.gif

Where do you live? What games do you play/plan to play?

The thing with computers is there will always be some kind of bottleneck. a GTX 580 and a AMD FX-4100 will handle most games fine, especially at resolutions lower then 1920x1080 however the CPU could use an upgrade.

Thank you for ansering normal person ya i intended to upgrade the cpu asap which is why i built my pc the way it is so it could take on the newer FXs that just came out Games i plan to play though Vary extremely

Rust,World of Warcraft,Elder Scrolls Online, Alot To many to name I have thrown just about everything at this build and noticed only maybe a hiccup of a spike nothing artifact wise or anything I Can with my cooling Overclock my CPU to 4Ghz with virtually no problems at all.

I live in michigan btw and will be getting my GTX 580 Tomorrow Been awhile since ive used Nvidia but its performing much better then my current card on performance charts

As for games Fair to say any FPS mmofps mmo that i find interesting ill probably play And as said my Desktop Resolution is 1600x900 cause its comfortable for my eyes and i use 1600x900 in most high demanding games and other games i play at 1920x1080 if its stable and i consider stable to be 40+ FPs Was just seeing from a More Expierenced builders Insight if im going the right or wrong way

Edit: Also I may even pick up a Higher Model Nvidia or Maybe ATI if its on sale or price is ok as my only option is Microcenter Where my gift card is

Yeah, the only trouble you might have with the new build is the CPU, and even then alot of the games you mentioned, (WoW, Rust, ESO are all pretty easy to run.) You'd only really run into trouble with the newer more CPU intensive games such as BF4. Once you upgrade the CPU you should be able to achieve 60+ fps on 1080p with the latest games on Medium-High detail :)

The 8gb of Ram is more then enough if all you plan to do is play games and browse the web.

Once you get a AMD FX-8350 you'll be all sweet.

Ya cant wait for that but unfortuantly knowing me ill go for overkill which means higher grade memory new board Sabertooth maybe then cpu lol alright cool long as my current build and soon tomorrow modified build is not hardcore bottlenecking and Stable with medium/high Im fine with that for now...

Out of curiosty whats your Perfered Resolution? for gaming and Desktop Resolution doesnt impact game resolution in anyway right? like in the backround or anything sounds icredibly noob but the thought came up

Im Worried about my Current Build bottlenecking? or becomeing a bottleneck

MSI 970A-G43

AMD FX 4100 3.6Ghz [Quad Core]

EVGA Nvidia GTX 580

Something is always the slowest part of a system, something is always a 'bottleneck'. In other words, every system is bottlenecked at some point.

In this case, the FX-4100 is the main bottleneck. Since you have an AM3+ motherboard, I'd suggest getting a newer FX-x3xx CPU. The sweet spot is probably the FX-6300 or 6350.

You may have limited choices in the replacement video card, but I would try for something newer like an R9-270 or GTX-660/760 rather than the older, louder, hotter GTX-580.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD

Soooo its been decided today I Will be instead using my Microcenter card to Purchase a AMD FX 8320 (8 Core) And will have Enough left over to pickup a AMD HD 7770 Or A Nvidia Within the range of price Ya id be downtuneing my GPU a little but but even when i bought the FX-4100 i thought damn this is cutting the mininum cause i think it was 40 or 50 bucks on sale And After looking at value for dolllar and peformance on Benchmark charts AMD FX-8320 is Top leader there for price
