Hey guys,

I know this question has been asked many times before, but I do wanna know, because AMD is moving on with their more power consuming cards and Nvidia still is limiting them, so WHY?

So what is the problem with NOT having those limits at all? Cards will be greatly overclokable, companies can put any cooler on their cards, which can take 250W (only the cooler).

Really, who cares about electricity these days - you can waste as much as you like if you are enthusiast or a gamer...and if you do, why not having an option for you to limit it, not having a stock limit... The only card without limits now is only the K|ngp|n edition or actually it does (450W).

Again, what's the point?

It's because foolish people will kill their cards and complain to Nvidia about it.

People will somehow blame Nvidia if they fry their card.

Well there is a base clock and a boost clock and also a temperature limit... of course you will be mostly limited by temperature if you OC, again, they can leave the temp limit to 83 degrees C...

That wouldn't stop people from frying their cards. If you send enough volts to the card, it will die before it throttles from temperature limits.
