Do you have any spare stand-offs? if so put a stand-off in the other stand-off to secure the board in place.

If you can't screw it in then at a minimum I would leave the stand off in place to prevent flexing when installing power cables.

I'd also test a different screw that fit into another stand off in the one that's giving you trouble.

There are two different threadings for motherboard standoffs and motherboard screws. Are you sure you're using the ones that came with your case?
