Remote Desktop Connection Help!

I've recently got myself VPS subscribtion, but for some reason cant connec to it. 

 

 

I've already watched many videos with possible solutions and ''fixes'' but none worked. I hope you great people of LinusTechTips Forum can help me out find a solution!

Recheck your ip address, also first time RDP might have to be initiated though VPS website. What VPS are you using and what version of windows is the VPS running?

Bought one from A2hosting 

VPS operation system is: CentOS7

What should i recheck on the IP adress exactcly and I didnt do any initiation.

RDP is a windows OS protocol and won't work for CentOS unless you use a third party tool like xRDP that you would have to install into CentOS.

To get into CentOS right now you have to use a ssh client such as putty

This looks like long and complicated process should i just get another VPS with different OS

Depends what are you wanting to do on the VPS?

I just need the VPS to run Metatrader 4 on it 24/5 without the need of my PC to be turned on constantly

If your not familiar or comfortable with command line linux is probably not the OS for you.

I've canceled my other VPS subscription and will get this one

RDP only supports Windows machines! If you're running CentOS youll need to be comfortable with a command-line interface (unless your VPS host provides you with some kind of control panel).

 

Your best bet is to find a Windows specific VPS, they usually cost a bit more due to licensing fees for Microsoft but easy way to go.
