So, my monitor is supposed to be able to overclock to 75Hz (VioTek FI24D) and I've been looking for a way to do so without actually going into the bios. Specifically the Radeon software. There is an option ot set up a custom resolution but I've tried that. Am I doing something wrong or is this just an impossibility?

Monitor overclock for 1 is riskier than other forms of overclocking just making sure you know this. Also my monitor was supposed to overclock to 75hz (according to multiple posts) but mine wouldn't. If you want to take the risk there is plenty of software for custom resolutions and hz.

I did know this, but my monitor was advertised at 75hz, only to find out 2 days after I bought it that it requires an overclock to get the full 75hz. Wouldn't the risk be at least reduced if it's rated for 75hz?

So the post or the ad for the monitor clearly states its ment to run at 75hz? Do you have a link? im not saying it will break it im just saying that there is some risks although saying there large is a bit misleading. Overclocking a cpu or gpu is more mainstream and seems to have plenty of safe guards. What have you done to attempted to have it run at 75hz?

IDK how it's done on AMD side but you definitely don't have to go to BIOS to do it

There's how it works on NVIDIA side.

You go into the NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL and set a Custom Resolution.

Then you type in the amount of Hz you wish it to run at then click APPLY.

If it works, it works.

If it doesn't work, you get a black screen for several seconds and then it goes back to default.

I'm quite sure it should work similarly on AMD side.
