laptop to 144hz monitor

Skitter_Omar

Hello.

I Have a dell 5577, i7 7700k, gtx 1050 laptop. I also have a msi optix MAG241CR, 1080p ,144hz monitor. My laptop doesn't have a display port which means i have to use a HDMI cable. with HDMI 2.0 cable I only get 120hz on my monitor. Can anyone help me? Is there any way I can get 144hz on my monitor?

You should be able to get 144 Hz with HDMI. You may need to set a custom resolution. Follow the instructions in section 6.3 here: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/how-to-connect-to-a-120-hz-display.3268285/

Imho, switch to the nvidia-graphics within the nv-panel (it's probably set to 'auto' atm)
