PC not powering

crazytuna

So I just replaced my motherboard, cpu, and GPU in my computer, and when I turn the psu on, the motherboard rgb comes on, yet the power button on the PC does not turn the pc on. I have tried plugging everything back in, and I know for a fact the psu is working, as it was powering my previous build earlier today. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Are you sure you connected your power button correctly? That can easily happen.

I'm fairly certain, the motherboard instructions are very poor for the one pin connectors, but I've tried every combination it had on the manual

Umm... Power Button requires 2 pins... Can you make a photo of front IO pins on MoBo? (Also a name of the model would be nice to have.)

First of all whats your mobo? Next if you not sure if the power button is working unplug it and try shorting two pins for power on the mobo , you can use screwdriver.

Motherboard is an Asus prime x470 pro

This is the configuration the mobo manual has:

Start from basics , power cable connected to psu? Psu switched on ? All cables connected properly where they should be connected (24 and 8pin) ? Cables connected properly to psu (if you have modular psu) .First double check this, after that try to shorting this two pins using something conductive. Do you have speaker on mobo? Does it gives any beeps?

Checked all the connections and they are fine, my mobo does not have a speaker. How do I go about shorting it?

Did you test all the new parts outside of the case on the motherboard box first to ensure everything was working and the system would post?

Edit: Also what cpu is it? Your mobo may need a bios update as well.

We know the power supply and ram work as they were part of another build, though we did not test the mobo, CPU, and gpu until now. The CPU is a ryzen 7 2700x

At this point if it were me I would take everything out of the case and start over with a test on the mobo box just to be sure. Only connect the bare minimum to be able to post so no front I/O or hard drives or anything. Basically just the mobo, cpu/heatsink, gpu, ram, psu, keyboard. If it still doesn't post out of the case try it without the gpu, you should still get the cpu fan to spin without the video card meaning the mobo would at least turn on without the gpu.
