My new card (Radeon Rx 5700 Xt) needs an eight pin and a six pin connector, while my old card only needed the six pin. My PSU only has one perif spot that the six pin came from and I'm not sure where to get the eight pin from. The PSU has two extra VGA cables and a CPU cable included, and has those accompanying slots on the PSU itself. I thought I could could use the extra CPU spot, but that didn't work. Do I need an adaptor or a new PSU or what?

Ok what you need is one of the cables (pic) which have two 6+2 pins , on one you need to connect only 6 pin and this extra two will stay unattached, other one just connect this 6 and a 2 to get 8 which you require. Other end connect to this (pic)

Ok so I've done what you said (it took me a bit, I was busy) I'm still not getting a display output and the gpu fans aren't on

Is the rest of the system powered on? Fans spinning, any lights

Yes, even the rgb lights on the card are on, just no card fans and no post. I also tried swapping back in the old card with everything else exactly the same and it posted no problem.

Hmmm ? sounds like problem with gpu. Can your try different pcie slot? Also maybe change the cable from psu, or instead of one daisy chained use two separate.

Welp I thought of switching too, but then I realized I don't have one :/. I have already tried switching the cable. I originally tried two separate which led me here.

If it really looks like the card might be dead, it's probably not a big deal since I got it from Gigabyte on Amazon brand new, so easy return. Kinda sucks though.
