I just finished building a PC for hosting a Minecraft server. Everything was great. I finished the build in under an hour and plugged it in and turned it on. Fans spun up and I got excited. And then nothing. No display or USB power.

It took me a couple hours and a night's sleep but I figured out that the ram was causing issues. I had installed a 32 gig DDR4 SDRAM kit. I swapped it with 16 gigs of DDR4 DRAM and it turned on normally and was able to post.

Does SDRAM not work in b450 motherboards or am I doing something wrong.

Build:

Motherboard B450M-HGV R4.0

CPU Ryzen 2200g

Ram OLOy 16x2 SDRAM 3000 MHZ kit

that board seems extremely picky about ram type based on their chart. I've never seen such a long requirement for ram

I assume it's not liking the speed of 3000MHz?
