Am I asking too much from my computer or Hardware Issue.

KingLudwig

I posted this on the Discord but realized the issue may be too complex for a chatroom format and I will likely get more view and comments from the forums.

Hey All I was wondering if you could shed some light on a problem I have been having with my PC and I cant tell if I am just asking too much from it or maybe something else? My daughter and I decided to build me a computer. I used to build some several years ago but that's all pre-SSD. Our first set of hardware was this... https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NggkL2 ... When all the parts came in we used a small Phillips 720p Tv at 60Hz and an ACER 1080p HD monitor at 60Hz It worked flawlessly. I got all my files transferred over no problems. I started to install some games and i ended up getting a pair of monitors at a steal https://www.frys.com/product/9876385 we got them all set up and set them both to 144Hz and the issues started to happen. It was fine for a few hours then I played a video in the default video player when it went into full screen i started to have the problem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbEYaelI8u8&feature=youtu.be not mine, but you get nearly the same problem. It didn't happen all the time maybe 1/10 videos. We found out it was more frequent when i tried to play some of the games i bought from Steam. The easiest way to trigger it was BioShock Remastered.

We swapped out graphics card and ram with my daughters (https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-Backplate-Graphics-11241-04-20G/dp/B0196LP8M8) and it still gave us the same issue, we also swapped out the ram. We struggled for a while and posted in another subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/dwspa2/graphics_issue/) but that didn't help much. We found out putting the monitors to 120Hz and it seemed to clear up. We perhaps thought it could be an issue with the motherboard? it was one of 2 things we couldn't swap out none of the other computers in the house use the same CPU Socket. That didn't work either we ended up swapping the mother board and the CPU and this is now the final build (minus the second monitor.) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Kittera/saved/GHHRkL This really seemed to work I had had no problems. I ended up swapping out monitors with my wife didn't really seem to have a point having two curved monitors the frame is right in the middle just didn't work for me. I Started playing War Thunder recently and I have the graphics set to High I thought I would try out the double curve again see if it helped any with my side views. set up the monitors again set them both to 144Hz and now the problems back.

someone asked how hot my system gets when it happens and this was the result.

Probably a problem with your display cables.

I wish it was that easy. I have replicated this with various cables both HDMI and DP the system will also bluescreen at somepoint.

Sounds like bad GPU driver (AMD has a reputation of releasing pretty poor drivers lately). What is the BSOD error do you get?

Do you have an Nvidia GPU to try?

I hate to say this but I'll try to crash it later. We do not have any Nvidia GPU in the house at the moment.
