Connectivity problem with network switch

Hello i recently bought a d-link switch to connect my tv and android player. The problem is that it doesn't connect. The switch works, when i connect both of my pcs everything is ok even the speed of the internet. When i try to connect my tv and android player there is no internet connection. Tv shows that is connected via ethernet connection meanwhile A.P just keeps on searching.

All cables are cat 5e.

If you haven't:

  1. Try a different port.
  2. Try different cables (particularly the one that leads back to the router).
  3. Try bypassing the switch all together.

If all fails try a different switch. Another brand perhaps.

I did tried different ports and cables, whats left is to try with cat 6 cables if that makes a difference. Even if i buy a better one i dont know if its going to work

Did these devices work previously on a different setup?

Does the TV have a setting to turn off the WiFi? Sometimes, even though the TV is connected Via Ethernet, will keep trying to search for wifi and ignore that the TV is plugged in.

I also had this kind of thing happen with my shield and disabling the WiFi seemed to make it move over to the cable.

Also, if that still isn't working, log into your router and make sure its giving the TV an IP.
