My First Build, Feedback Needed

So in about two weeks, I'm gonna build my first custom rig. I can spend about $1450-$1500 but since prices are higher here, I can get about $1300 worth of components.

i would change the power supply to a evga super nova , i love the single wire sleeved cables they have 650w or 750 w , very nice choice in parts

It makes your pc a lot faster, than a regular hard drive

I recommend going with the HD 7970, it costs as much as a 670 but is as fast as a 680 on stock clocks & faster when overclocked.

It has 3GB of VRAM on 384bit interface instead of 2GB on a 256bit interface which gives it a very sharp edge over the 670 with anti aliasing (the graphics setting that removes jagged edges).

I was considering a 7970 but i'm bit on the green side. also, i think i'll be using adobe programs sometime in the future so CUDA will be handy. if there isn't that much of a difference in rendering, then why not? oh, i dunno about game bundles here.

Im pretty sure adobe is working on alot better support for AMD cards, so the performance you get from a 7970 would be good, they are really goode deals! and they have more memory.. :)

The 7970 with the deals offered at the moment are really good, and even if you don't like the games, you can sell them and make a bit of money back. You also never know when that extra 1Gb of vRam would come in handy :)

 

If funds allowed I would think about getting an SSD, you will notice a massive difference! :)

It all depends on your needs and preference, I personally think that Phantom looks better, but that's just me :P You can't go wrong with either :)

If you have an old copy of Windows 7 laying around, do not feel pressured into buying Windows 8, the optimisation is nice but as a desktop operating system it is so unsure of itself.

So it seems that the site was down yesterday. I just saw intel's announcement. Should i wait for 4th gen?
