Do i upgrade my CPU or GPU?

Hello!

 

I have a simple question (i hope).

My current build is this:

 

Mobo: TUF-B450-PLUS-GAMING AM4

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 six-core 3.50 Ghz.

Ram: 8x2 G.skill ram at 3200mhz.

GPU: GTX 1060 3gb.

PSU: Corsair CX 650m

 

What do i upgrade first?

I will have to upgrade both but what do i get first?

Better CPU or better GPU?

 

I use my pc only for gaming, schoolwork or writing sheet music (i am a musician), you only have to take gaming into account tho.

Wellcome to the forum! Nice to see a fellow musician!

 

Idd upgrade the GPU to a 5700 or something along those lines.

 

But all in all this system is nice for 1080p. Wich games and wich resolutions/Hz do you game at?

FOLDING MONTH 2021! GOGOGO and save on some heating costs 🙂

GPU until you get to the 2080 / 1080 Ti range or you buy a 240 hz monitor.

Right now it´s Kingdom come deliverance.

I wanna get into Red dead 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 and such.

5700 will do that just fine. 5700xt would be cool if you have the $$. Much higher than this is not that much gain for your res and FPS. Although for 2077 it could help. Will be pretty demanding according to rumors.

 

I play Drums and Electric Guitar in a prog Metal band. Verry different but hey I also play violin (a bit...need to practice more)
