The i3will bottleneck it.HARD. It depends on scenario, but mostly the new games optimised for more cores and MP. I get sucky consistency in my bf3 experience with a 3240 clocked at 3.4 ghz. How do i know it's bottlenecking? Cpu usage and gpu. Gtx 660, 60% load in MP, i3 95% load, so a 7870 will be the same, you will feel the lack of cores pretty soon, don't listen to people speaking from ''internet experience'', most of them are confusing. Still a good choise for SP games, but not for long.

Codename: HighFlyer, specs:  CPU: i5 2500k cooled by a H70ish(2 rad)   Mobo: MSI MPower Z77   GPUs: Gigabyte GTX 660 OC 1150 MHZ core, 3150 memory both   RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16G @1600mhz   SSD: ADATA Premier Pro sx900 / HDD Seagate Barracuda 1TB/Samsung 1TB   Power supply: Corsair RM650 80+ Gold   Case Corsair Carbide 500R   5.4 ghz achieved on the good old 2500k, may it rest in peace. Current daily OC is 4.8 @1.41 v

The i3 2120 I know 100% sure will bottle neck the 7950. I know because I too had a i3-2120 and a 7950. Games like Crysis 3 I was only getting 2 fps avrg (in high) even when overclocked to 1150 i only saw a gain for 2-3 fps(thats how i knew there was some bottlenecking going on.) Tomb raider was okay 40-50fps but in some areas it would drop to 20-25. I just upgraded to 3770k and pretty much gained a good 20-30 fps in all games
