Current system has 4th gen i5 which is starting to be a bottleneck.

Parts that can be reused: Storage (2x SSD 1x HDD), EVGA GTX 1070 SC

Its propably going to be either i7-9700k or R7 3700x, currently leaning on AMD for it being more future proof and cheaper (if the stock cooler is decent enough)

Edit: don't need GPU or storage, budget for the rest is 1000€/$

Thanks

ps, I'm from Finland

I'd pair a Ryzen 3600 with that 1070SC, not a 3700X.

he can upgrade the gpu next year or whenever, and then the 3700 will serve him better.

also, if the pc is not just for gaming, the 3700x is much better in professional applications

That looks pretty nice, couple questions tho

Is aftermarket cooler a worthy buy?

Is BitFenic legit PSU brand?

3700x is going to cover future GPU upgrade

Right, I get what you both are saying but you've given no evidence as to anything more than gaming (which is what I assume when you're using a 1070SC, it's for gaming).

You don't need a 3700X for gaming, ever.  Not today, and not some made up future proofing.

What are your uses for this PC?  I should have asked this in my previous post, I apologize.

you can stay with the stock cooler for a while. if you find it's too noisy, the cpu is too hot, or you can't overclock too well, get the better one. up to you.

yes, that model is one of the best psu's. check the psu tier list below, it's in tier A+

Because you're looking at price.  Look at similar performance.  The 9700K and 3600 are the gaming chips.  The 3700X is a production/gaming/editing chip.  If you don't need all that, why pay for it since it games arguably worse than the 3600?

swapped some parts due to long delivery estimates and choose cheaper ram and case to fit m.2 drive to budget, should I pull the trigger on this?
