Buzzing noise coming from the case

Describe your problem. List any error messages and symptoms. Be descriptive.

The PC makes a weird buzzing noise when there's an input such as scrolling or pressing a key on the keyboard. The noise is not too loud, but in an empty and quiet room you can easily hear it. It also buzzes when under load sometimes. Such as running a game or opening an application which I found to be normal. But just when simply scrolling through reddit, it buzzes as I'm scrolling. If I stop scrolling, it stops buzzing.

Here is the noise it makes: https://clyp.it/sceboftw

Make sure to listen with headphones because the sound is muffled here and try to ignore the fans spinning noise. Starts around 0:05 then as you can hear me pressing a button on the keyboard, the noise starts. If I release a button, the noise stops.

List anything you've done in attempt to diagnose or fix the problem.

I checked if everything is plugged in correctly.

I tried unplugging my headset, mouse, keyboard, ethernet cable and turning off my monitor.

I checked the temperatures while running Cinebench, everything was normal. ~60°C on CPU scoring 4734, all cores running at ~4GHz.

Post relevant photos of build/parts here.

Provide any additional details you wish below.

Could this be GPU coil whine? The noise also happens when the GPU isn't under heavy load and fans are not turning (low temperatures).

I don’t have headphones convenient to listen to your sample, so I didn’t, but from your description I’d say coil whine sounds likely.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Nah it doesn’t sound like coil whine (I did listen to that) more like static power sounds... or something like that, hard to describe

Hi i have the same case and i figured out that the noise was coming from the dust filter under the case. I took it off and the noise stop , hope this can help you solve your problem.

I also found that it is the dust filter under the case. I just put some painting tape on the sides and it made it stop resonating.

So it wasn’t coil whine. A vibration resonance but from a different component literally part of the case rather than inside it.  Lucky Win! Might have been coil whine but subsonic to human hearing, which was amplified into human hearing range by the part.

I know this thread is old but I just found it and it has saved my butt.  I have been fighting with this issue for years with my Meshify C case and I was on the verge of just buying a new case to save myself the annoyance.  So far, the tape on the dust filter has stopped the issues.  I haven't tested long term yet but so far so good and fingers are crossed.  Thanks a ton!
