Looking for help with this build, just wanting to know if everything will run fine, any recommendations on parts that I could swap out for better price / performance & if there is anything I forgot.

Wanting to stay around the same price, not going to be overclocking anything, also not quite sure on good Cases or Case Fans that I should look for.

for your main drive look into SSHD (solid state hybrid drive) it will give a little more performance.  also the person above (Herman) recommend a gen one AMD Ryzen 5 CPU, don't know why when Gen 3 AMD Ryzen cpu's are out there.

for a one GPU setup i would look at M-ATX format case and m/board.

what's your budget / location and colour scheme etc?

CPU cooler ? look at Noctua coolers are decent, but something you can always upgrade later if the CPU comes with a stock cooler.

once you say what you need it for and budget its hard to compile a list. but yours is pretty good. all depends if your 1080p or 1440p gaming?

Yeah I was a little confused looking at that CPU, and was unable to find any from my local retailers anyway. My budget is about under $1100 AUD ( Australian ). Colour scheme I don't care, whatever works.

I looked at them but I thought the stock cooler would be fine for normal use and no overclocking, only going to be doing 1080p Gaming.

Cases are so individual taste and budget. I just bought a bequiet 600 for my new rig I'm making. It looks good to me and went for about $119.00 US on amazon. I don't know if that's something you'd like or not but for me I thought it was good for the price range.

You know I'm in a similar situation motherboard wise but I want to go intel instead of amd.

I read Herman's and boggy77 replies and was wondering what you two would recommend motherboard for locked 8th or 9th gen cpu. I'm not doing any overclocking either.

I got my mind set on pretty much everything except the motherboard.

At the moment, amd offers the better value. Any particular reason you want to go with intel?

Maybe because that's not a first gen ryzen CPU? I pointed out that it was the AF units that used zen+, effectively a cheaper 2600 to save money for a better CPU. Also, hybrids just make 1-2 programs load faster, it doesn't make anything perform better.

I hold on to my desktops for a long time.  So within reason I want to go with what I like regardless of value per dollar.  If you know what I mean.  I just read you and Herman Mcpootis's amd recommendations and I thought that they probably have built some intel systems in the past too.  So they might know good intel boards from not so good motherboards.

I'm just held up on what board to get and need some advice.
