I'm planning on embarking (and in some ways, already have) on a journey to build a custom loop in a Node 202 since while my cpu is under a 120mm aio, my GPU is still a blower on account of the airflow in the case, since even with 2 noctua iPPC fans blasting down on the gpu most standard coolers won't cut it (as my previous 970 can attest). As such, up till this point, I've been limited to ~150W TDP graphics cards, and currently I'm running an undervolted 1070 Ti, which will still easily get into the 80s, and roar while it's doing so.

The solution? A custom loop specifically for the GPU, with an option to add in the CPU in the future. Aesthetics aren't a big concern for me - I already have a fan mounted externally in order to fit an H75 rad internally - and I will likely have to mod the case to accommodate fittings and the like. The goal is to use purely off the shelf components while preserving (or adding to) the original look of the case. However, mine is beat up and already previously modded so if I screw it up it won't be too much worse than before :P

My current parts list:

EKWB Titan X Pascal Acetal block (should support everything below it - 1070, 1080, 1080Ti, etc)

XSPC TX240 slim 240mm radiator - 20.5mm

2x Silverstone Slim 120mm fans - 15mm

a cheap (but importantly small) water pump - 5cm x 5cm x 8cm - to go behind PSU

3x 90 degree fittings (3/8 x 5/8)

3x straight fittings (3/8 x 5/8)

Probably 10ft of Primoflex?

The GPU compartment in the Node 202 only officially supports ~60mm of depth, card included. In theory these components will fit, but if I need to mod the case to pass tubing and fit fittings I will.

I will update this thread as I go, and feel free to leave comments and suggestions! They would be very much appreciated!

So now that most of the parts have arrived, I immediately saw a problem - there is not enough clearance for 90 degree fittings on the gpu, at least no for the ones I'm using. There are 2 ways to solve this, either source lower profile fittings and pray that they work, or just saw a hole in the chassis. I decided to do the latter.

I really don't mind it - I think if I go all in on a black and silver build with some paint and extra mods the case will look pretty nice. I do intend to 3D print a cover in the mean time, though.

Don't mind the other holes - they were for a previous botched project that I just gave up on that involved string lights and LEDs. No fun.
