New system no post.

Specs:

asus rog strix x570-i

ryzen 9 3900x

corsair sf750

corsair dominator platinum rgb 2x16gb 3466mhz

msi gtx 980 4g (test gpu)

samsung m.2 960 evo 1tb (shouldnt matter)

 

Hi, i set up a testbed today just to see that all the components are working properly and i get no post. According to asus RAM support page my dimms are not listed which might the problem. What i've tested:

- 1 or 2 ram sticks

- gpu with or without PCI-e cables

- keyboard / no keyboard

- hdmi to gpu / motherboard

- dvi to gpu

 

Everything lights up, on the status LEDS i get the following (in this order): 

- yellow static DRAM

- red static CPU

- white GPU

- green BOOT

 

any help i can get would be awesome

Not 100% sure but is your board supporting 3rd gen Ryzen out off the box or need bios upgrade before that. That may be your problem

I removed the cooler and it turned out that the stock cooler had excessive amounts of thermal paste that was pushed out on the sides and into the socket. I'm sending both the CPU and Motherboard back to the retailer so i don't risk any warranty. 

 

However the 3900X is supported on all PCBs and BIOS 0268 but i'm not getting any post so i couldn't check which version i had
