hi everyone, so this i my first post here. been following linus for a while now yet never came to the forum? hmmm

so i had a basic and probably stupid question to do with my gpu and a new tv.

Right now my pc is connected to a 50" plasma tv. now the tv is amazing! i wear glasses when i game, i found that lcd tv's hurt my eyes so jumped to plasma.

im a huge gamer.... i game for over 8 hours at a time. as you may have guessed, screen burn can be an issue for me. now while it isnt too bad, it still occurs slightly. so i am looking to switch to a new tv

monitors are no good as my pc is also my home theatre pc, and i dont have space for a tv and monitor (else i would)

so i have been looking to switch over to this, or something similar

LG 47LA620v

now i know the advertised 200MHz refresh is most likely a lie, but it should be atleast 120MHz due to 3D right?

now i have a 3D blu-ray player so thats all good, but i want to do something else aswell

i have a gtx 780 so i am considering 3d gaming in some of my more played games to try and bring back to want to play, mainly borderlands 2

now this is support by 3d vision, which obviously needs the nvidia 3d glasses and the transmitter.

but i just want to use my tv and the tv manufacturers glasses for now, and as i have never looked into 3d gaming i dont have a clue where to start or how it works, yes an entirely n00b question.

So would anyone be able to help me with this question?

Regards,

Jamie
