New to NAS, best way to run Plex and a download VM (Deluge, Sonarr, Radarr)

In my current setup I have my router (Netgear R9000) hosting Plex and acting as my NAS.  I then have a VERY old laptop that runs Sonarr, Radarr, and Deluge with all of my web traffic going through my VPN.  

 

I just finished piecing my home server together from spare parts and extra drives.  Now I am looking for the best way of having this machine do everything I am doing now but better.  I have been reading good things about Unraid, I am just not that familiar with it, dockers, ect.  

 

REQUIRMENTS

Run and host Plex

Regularly back up files to blank drives

Run a Download VM?

 

DOWNLOAD VM

Only connect to internet through NordVPN

Run Deluge

Run Sonarr

Run Radarr

UnRAID sounds like the best solution for you. You can use their plugins for all those apps that essentially are dockers.

They make it easy by having a plugin store so you can just click on the app you want and it spins up, you don't even need a VM.

x2 my unRAID box is doing just what you want to do go over and install it for free there are no limitations on the free trial it lasts 30 days plus I believe you can get 2 15 day extensions but 30 days should tell you if its right for you, then buy the license and your configuration from the free trial will transfer over
