I am currently having issues with my PSU possibly either being faulty or not delivering enough power to my GPU. Time to upgrade. I am trying to decide if going from 80+ Bronze to 80+ Gold efficiency is worth the same amount as moving up from a 750w to a 850w. I would like some extra power for my Rig, which is currently FX-6300 and 7970 (a FX-8350 is in the mail now).

Both are overkill.. A decent 600w is already plenty. Whether the power savings between gold and bronze matter depend on how much your electricity costs.

If this is the EVGA Supernova 750G vs a NZXT Hale82-M 850w or Antec Signature 850w, then the NZXT or the Antec. If this is something like the Seasonic G 750, Rosewill Capstone 750w, or Cooler Master V700 vs the Cooler Master Silent Pro M850, then I would get the Seasonic, Rosewill, or CM V.

Basically, it depends on what unit you are comparing to and the price that it is at. You can't just make a general statement on what you should get like this. And as WoodenMarker said, a good quality ~600w would be plenty for your system

Updated the post, and I am not comparing anything certain PSU, but just the efficiency and output

Are you planning on CFX? If not, our comment stands with even with the FX-8350.

And, yes, I know you weren't comparing particular PSUs. I was saying that you should compare specific PSUs and not just efficiency and output. I gave you an example showing that efficiency vs output can go either way. While you can say that most high-end, high-quality PSUs nowadays will achieve gold and platinum efficiency, the production of high efficient units had been making into the lower-end segment of the market, in which there are some price reduction being made to keep the price low. Due to this, you may be better off getting a higher-quality bronze unit.

If you just want to know the general savings between gold and bronze efficiency, for many people, it isn't a lot to spend the extra money on, but that depends on the cost of electricity in their region. There's an article on it at [H]ardOCP. It also show comparison in cost between efficiency. http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/10/04/80_plus_irrelevant_to_you_when_buying_psu/#.UvngtrQa5CQ
