really? so then the xbox 1 controller wont work? I have a ps2 controller, but the adapters are as much as the actual ps2 controllers themselves.

No. Microsoft in their infinite wisdom made a proprietary extension to the generic USB controller schema. You can still use an Xbox controller on systems that accept USB controllers, but the mapping it does will make it impossible to do anything.

I believe the PS3 works with any generic USB controller. I recall using my PS2 to USB adapter on it. But I believe it has to be a generic USB controller. Xbox 360 or similar controllers won't work.

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

  • 5 months later...

I know this is old topic but may I suggest using a single adaptor for you PS2 controller, and then using a third party software so that the PC will read the PS2 as an Xbox 360 controller.

I use this type of adaptor . The adaptor will show the PS2 as a PS3 controller on PC. (images below)

Then I install a software to detect the controller and the install it and it becomes an Xbox 360 controller. Links bellow to YouTube.

So,to sum it up,use an adaptor that makes your PS2 controller into a PS3 controller. Just like the one I show.
