What motherboard do you have? What M.2 SSD do you have? Which M.2 slot are you using (if there are multiple on the board)? What SATA port are you using for the HDD?
Often times certain SATA ports get turned off when you are using an M.2 SSD.

i have a b450 tomahawk. a kingston a400 m.2 ssd. there is only 1. if im correct its the 5th one but im not sure but i havent tried the sata ports on the front ima try those

okay thanks i was using the sata ports on the side because that looked better with cable management but they are blocked or something but the sata ports on the front aren´t thanks for the help

SATA 5 and 6 will be turned off, but SATA 3 and 4 are still accesible (those are the SATA ports below the 5/6 ones, so also pointed to the side).

SATA 4 and 3 also point to the side, but are still turned on. You can use those if you want the cable management neater as you mentioned.
