Hi there,

I‘m running out of ideas and hoping for some Input from the community. I‘m not a native speaker, so please excuse any errors ;).

Currently I use a Obutto R3volution Simrig with 3 Screens attached to it. I have one Workstation that drives this setup. In 2020 there will be some changes, because my company asked me to do more homeoffice to save office space...

The Obutto is super confortable  but absolutly unusable when it comes to work. There is no real space for putting papers or anything else. I‘m going to buy a second desk where I want to put 3 additional screens, keyboard and mouse.

I‘m looking for a solution to switch between the obutto and the desk setup without recabling every time. I could not find a KVM switch, that switches between multiple outputs only between Inputs. And no, I don‘t want to Build a second workstations (what would probably be the Linus way ;) )

Probably some of you guys have a good idea ;).

Regards,

Sebastian

The workstation is a 2019 2950X Threadripper with one 1080Ti in it. The monitors on the Obutto are 3 Asus PG258Q. The three displays for the desk have to be ordered. I'm thinking about buying again 3 PG258Q, or one big 49 curved screen.

The workstation will be in the same room about 3-4m away.

If you get only one wide monitor for the workplace then you can just connect it in addition to the other 3...

What kind of work?

Primarly I do developmet stuff, so I have my IDE and multiple VMs running. I'm used to work with 3 displays so the curved screen will be a kind of experiment for me. If it does not work for me I want to be able to switch back to a triple screen setup at my desk too. Is there no device like a reverse KVM that can switch one input to x outputs?

With HDMI you can get switchers with one input and 2 outputs, but I've never seen any for displayport.
