Bios flash help please!

I bought a new ryzen 3700x to switch  out my 2600x. My motherboard supports it and I downloaded the bios flash into my usb stick after formatting. The files show up but the bios file doesnt. I've extracted and formatted and tried a million things but nothing seems to work. I'm trying to do it with my old cpu in so I can still use the pc. I need another way other than this.  Msi b450 gaming plus,  ryzen 3600x, usb is 32gb some brand

You're going to need to check and see what the required file format is of the USB.

How would I check that??

Look at the requirements for flashing the bios on the MSI page.

Then check the properties of the Flash drive. Should tell you the filesystem there. Sometimes it needs to be fat32 or NTFS. Though I've seen it swapped before.

Follow the steps in the first section Flash from MFlash.

Ok so I extract the files on the usb after formatting. Then put the bios on the root directory. What else should I be doing?

Have 2600x installed in the board.

Then go into the BIOS -> MFlash section -> select flash bios option

Ok so I'm at that part and I've got my usb detected

Select your USB and then it should let you browes it for the BIOS file.

If it does select the bios file and than it should start flashing process.

That's the thing. It wont detect the bios file.

Some BIOSes might want FAT32 or extFAT. Maybe.

Have you put the 2 files on the root of the USB or the whole folder?

The whole folder, the bios file, and the text thing

Well, there's your problem.

You need to put the 2 files that are inside the folder on the root of the usb, and than it should work.

Nothing but system info shows up without the folder

Do as @Tan3l6 said, and make sure that the usb is formatted in FAT32, and that 2 files are directly on the root of the usb without the folder.

If that doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas.
