What mobo? If you have only one LL fan, might be better just use motherboard to control RGB. Otherwise the Node Pro is the one you need.

Asus Z170 Pro Gaming.  I have only one LL fan.  I got the Corsair Commander Pro and I can't get the fan to light up with that.  How can I use the motherboard to control the RGB?

So your mobo doesn't have RGB header = no control/power. The Commander Pro should work. Are you sure you have connected RGB cable correctly? As in right way. And have both USB and SATA cables connected?

Should the RGB cable go into one of the FANS headers on the Commander Pro?  The RGB cable has a 4-pin connector and the FANS headers are also four pins.  I tried to insert the cable and it didn't seem like it would fit.  I didn't want to force it and risk damaging anything.

From what I can tell, I also need the Corsair RGB LED Hub.  It would be great if anyone can confirm or refute this.  Happy New Year!

Can you link to Commander model you have, or post pic. The Commander Pro has both fan and RGB headers. But from what you are saying I think you have the older Commander version which is only for fans. So in that case you would need Corsair Node.

It has LED headers, which are 3-pin.  The RGB cable is 4-pin and doesn't fit.

I never imagined it would be so complicated to get one RGB fan to light up.

Ok, sorry for before. I don't use RGB myself and had assumed that Commander Pro was for normal 4pin RGB. But seems its ARGB actually which is 3pin. So you would need another controller for 4pins. From Corsair I can't find anything useful. They don't seem to have anything for 4pin RGB.

It's really fascinating to me that this is so difficult.  That a customer has to purchase multiple products to make one product function correctly, but even when they do that, the products aren't compatible with each other.
