Laptop recomendations

Im looking to get a decent laptop for Christmas that is around £1000.

Is it worth the price, is there any other laptop with similar specs that is cheaper or do you have any better recommendations?

prefer something decently slim and light since ill be carrying it out a lot, decent battery life

5-7 hrs battery life is a bit hard to be achieved in gaming laptops, your options will be limited

Build quality not great, bad cooling, Asus poor QC+aftersales
