I am using a Tomahawk B450 mobo with a ryzen 5 3500, and have already built the system. I am not using a graphics card. I know I need to update the bios, and downloaded the newest bios version on the MSI website for the mobo model onto a flash drive with FAT32 formatting. I turned on my pc, plugged the drive into the flashbios port, however when I pressed the flash bios button, there was no flash bios light, even after a couple of seconds. I left the USB plugged in for 15 minutes before diconnecting my USB and plugged HDMI into mobo, however no post (even after powering off and powering back on computer). What do I do from here?

Edit: 3400G

If you have an access to a 2000 series chip (loan from a friend maybe), you could try installing that and see if you can update the BIOS with that installed.  Check you cables and RAM making sure all are seated properly.  It could be the CPU or MOBO is defective.
