Added memory, stuck in automatic repair loop

I added another 8 gigs of ram to my pc for s total of 16 gig, I started tweaking my memory settings to run at a faster speed, nothing insane just from 1333mhz to 1600, and it started looping in automatic repair. I ended up removing the ram I added and the system is back to the way it was before. It's still looping even after I loaded factory defaults in the bios. Any ideas?
