Test bench build

Ok, so I sell PC parts as a side gig and from time to time I get large batches of either hard drives or SSDs, and I'd like an easy way to test them.

I currently have a SATA to USB adapter, as well as an m.2 to USB adapter, however the latter can't pull all of the SMART data on every drive, thus I only know Power On Count and Hours, and Good or not.

Thus, I'd like to put together a PC that I can use to test hardware that doesn't require me using my own PC.

I'd also like to have something I can set up in the kitchen should someone just have to see a high end video card working before purchase (though I generally don't allow this).

 

Is there a cheaper way to accomplish it than what's listed below?

prefer 6 SATA boards maybe? PCPP can filter those out

I'm not terribly worried about the PSU; the PC will be used very infrequently for very short periods of time.

Raidmax does not have a very good reputation when it comes to psu.

 

Generally not to be found in pcpartpicker, Seasonic 300W - 400W OEM units are often available on Amazon and in local independent shops.

True, but I don't think it'll be too much of an issue since it's just a very low powered CPU that will be ran very rarely.

I'll keep an eye out for the Seasonic, though I imagine since it's OEM it's not semi modular? I don't want a squid on my desk.
