The whole thing is confusing, but:

  • Its all about who views your videos, not who they are intended to.
  • The age limit between child-approved and rest is at 13 years. Which means that
    • There's much better way of doing this aka limiting viewing for only those with account (over 13 year olds).
  • If videos are private, only those with approved account can view them. So you are probably fine. Setting them unlisted is bit hazy area as anyone with link can view them.
  • I'll repeat that this really is about who can view your videos, not who you intend them.

Those are "facts". I don't think setting audience to kid friendly sends them to Youtube Kids side, I think thats still more to do with category. However, from own notices, advertising shown with videos that are marked as kid friendly is more towards toys and such. I really don't get any Monday.com etc. stupid ads.
