Looking for a different sound

Hello,

My current set up: computer>USB>su-8>XLR>monolith thx aaa 887>dt 1990 pro.

I'm looking for a new pair of headphones. As of right now, I am looking at the Argon Mk3, Neumann NDH20, or sennheiser HD600. I was looking for close back mainly, but then came across the HD600 after reading some good reviews. Also, what is the difference between the HD600 and the HD650 if any. As of right now (12/13/19) the HD600 and HD650 are on sale (save around $100). I'm quite new to the audiophile scene; so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I am a huge fan of the sennheiser HD6xx line. I had the 600 for some time and they make a awesome introduction to nice Headphones. However i now upgraded to 660s. More defined and low power

for how much can you get the Neumans? They are a lot more expensive than 600 (in my region)

But they aren’t as nice as the 660s wich are roughly same price (again in my region)

Do you want something more bright? Or warm ? Or darker? Maybe a planar headphone might be up your alley like a sendy aiva or a sundara, or LCD 2c.

The 600 is flat and reference , the 650 has warmth and has improved dynamics and detail. But if you live in the US the 6xx is a better option exactly the same as the 650 just cheaper

Yep, but in the US the 660S are on sale pretty often. They sound again a notch better, but are also pretty flat (wich I want in all my audio gear)

To be honest, I have little to no clue about music frequency beside what i read. Havent had hands on experience. I am planing on buying different headphone over the years to expand my knowledge on this topic. The reason why i mention those 3 headphone was due to reading good reviews on them; they caught my attention. i have open back headphones right now and would like to see what close backs are all about.
