Constant Crashing

Hi guys,

My pc recently has been crashing constantly, about once every day.  It usually happens because of various blue screen codes, but when I google them, they tend to be because of driver or RAM issues.  I set my RAM clock speed back to default, and updated and reinstalled my drivers.  What seems to be the problem ;n;

thank you so much

Here are the standard BSOD troubleshooting for those kinds of errors.

  • Remove any newly installed hardware
  • Rollback any recently updated drivers
  • Run whatever hardware diagnostics your board has (memory test at a minimum)
  • Ensure components are not overheating
  • Reseat memory
  • Reseat CPU
  • See if issue happens with each individual memory stick
  • See if issue happens without the GPU (if IGP is an option on your system)
  • Remove non-essential hardware one at a time

Blue screens aren’t the cause of a crash they’re a result of it.  The blue screen isn’t the crash, but it is the dead people on the freeway.  I suspect a bad ram stick.  Unoverclocking your ram has apparently already been done.  The next step would be testing.  One stick and only one stick at a time.  The thing about ram is it’s fairly rare for more than one stick to fail.  If you’ve got one or more sticks that work and one that doesn’t the problem is that stick.  If you have all sticks fail the problem may be elsewhere or it is remotely possible that all of them are damaged.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
